You may, however, The 000-28EC does look pretty sweet with the herringbone trim and rosette, and it's got the chunkier V-shape neck if you prefer that. But it's also significantly pricier than the 000-18, with the OM-28 falling about right in the middle of the two. Of the three, the 000-18 is my favorite, followed by the OM-28.

I have an 000-18 and an 000-28, and although admittedly they are not new, but they have the same architecture. The Mahogany is honest and in your face, the Rosewood is full of overtones and subtleties. I prefer the 18, but that's just me.

Interestingly enough, they get the 5/16″ scalloped bracing like the Eric Clapton models, while the 000-18 retains its 1/4″ scalloped bracing like an OM, with no explanation offered (to me from Martin) as to why this is.
